Different Types of Butterflies

I don't know more all about butterfly.. but I read on article said that When people talk about different types of butterflies, often they are referring to the different butterfly families and subfamilies, whose names reflect shared physical characteristics of member species. For example, the Pieridae family of whites and sulfurs refers to the fact that species have predominantly white or yellow/orange wings.
This brief article outlines the six different families common in the United States.
